What is Serotoninergic Syndrome?

Serotonin is a chemical produced by the body that allows brain cells and other cells of the nervous system to communicate with each other. If there is too little serotonin in the brain it can lead to depression. If there is too much it leads to excessive activity of the nerve cells, causing a potentially fatal collection of symptoms, known as serotonin syndrome.
